It was a beautiful scene before me as I worked with Ashanti and Theory for their engagement session! Don’t these two look wonderful? Enjoying a special time together at Dumbo Park near the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, I was captivated by the connection that these two shared. Always finding a way to be close, I just loved the way their eyes lit up when they shared a tender moment! Capturing it all on my camera, I was left breathless as they stood in front of a carousel. With its twinkling lights allowing for a romantic scene, they both seemed to come alive with love and it was absolutely stunning! With the sun upon their smiling faces, it was an incredible time of love!
Coming from Fort Lauderdale in Florida, Ashanti immediately fell in love with New York as she travelled there to go to school. Wanting it to become her home, fate seemed to have the exact same idea. With Theory growing up in the Bronx, he had moved to different places before he found himself back there again. Being in the same area, these two opposites definitely found a way to connect and attract each other. Even with their differences, Ashanti and Theory always bring out the best in each other and have a great time together. With a four year relationship and a two year old daughter that they raise together, they definitely have hit it off!
After their time together and the memories that they have shared, Theory thought it was time to begin their journey towards marriage. About a week before his birthday, he had planned for an early birthday dinner for himself. Going to a restaurant on the water that had a spectacular view of the city, The River Cafe made for the perfect little spot. With a romantic dinner, love was shining brightly that night and as dessert made its way to the table, it was about to get even brighter! Finding that her dessert had a lid over it, Ashanti removed it and was surprised to see a ring underneath. Looking up, Theory was beside her on one knee and began to say a speech that she barely heard over her tears of joy. Saying yes when he asked her to marry him, it was a moment that they would never forget. Feeling honored to capture the residual emotions from that day, it was incredible to take part in their engagement. Looking lovelier than ever and always managing to find a way to share closeness, they were a perfect example of love. Congratulations to the both of you on your exciting engagement!
