Some say that rain is bringer of life. It gives water to the earth to help things grow and makes sure that there is water for life on the planet. Even though this may be true, I also believe that love is in the rain. This was definitely proven to be true while I worked with Carol and Andrew for their engagement session. Posing at the wonderful atmospheres provided by the Brooklyn Bridge and Grand Central Station, these two looked amazing in their stunning outfits! Not only were the areas filled with wonderful places to pose like with the bridge in the background, a carousel, and the enchanting area of Grand Central Station that was glowing with lights, but the look of love between them was able to surpass it all!
This wonderful couple had a great story to share with me about their relationship. Coming from two very different areas, it makes you wonder if fate had a large hand in bringing these two together. Carol originated in Hong Kong before moving to DC and eventually going to NYU and Columbia on the east coast for school. Andrew on the other hand had come from Toronto in Canada. Making his way to Los Angeles for school, he eventually found himself also on the East Coast as he studied at Columbia Law School. This is where their journey was finally able to start! Meeting in line while they waited for food at school, this was the start of something wonderful! Meeting up again while Carol was busy studying for her finals, she agreed to have lunch with him at a nearby restaurant. Even though it was only suppose to be for an hour, these two talked for at least 4 hours and really hit it off! Soon having their first date, they walked around the city and after this date, they both knew then that they had the potential for a great relationship.
With many dates under their belts and many food adventures, trips to different places around the world, moments of a shared sense of humor, and two years of being together, these two were totally in love and knew that they wanted to share the rest of their lives together. Dropping hints every chance she got by pointing at her finger or even taking pictures in front of jewellery stores like Tiffanys, Cartier, and other stores that would be available on our trip to Paris, Carol had no idea that Andrew had already gone to a jewellers to see about getting her that special ring. Even though she expected to be proposed to while they were visiting Toronto since her parents had let it slip that he had already asked for their permission to marry her, Andrew had actually secretly asked a friend to set something up in his apartment for when they returned. It was a milestone treasure hunt of sorts – each milestone having a box containing a memento and a card. When they got back, even though Carol’s first reaction was that they had been robbed when she saw something lying on the ground, Andrew managed to calm her and finally it clicked of what was happening. She of course would say yes since she had been excitedly waiting for this moment! With this awesome memory in mind, it made it easy for me to capture their beautiful moments as a couple. It was just amazing! Congrats you too and thanks for the incredible experience!
