There are moments in my career as a photographer that I am just in awe of the couples I meet. Katherine and Eli were one of them. Joining them for their engagement session in Grand Central Station, these two were like a fairytale couple come to life! Arriving in a stunning outfits and being surrounded by the beautiful architecture of the building, these two looked amazing! Sharing tender moments like a swooping kiss, it was wonderful to watch these two as they acted like they were the only ones there. You knew it was love when all you can see is each other – I loved that about them!
Both growing up in Manhattan, New York, Katherine and Eli met in high school. Beginning as just friends, these two eventually started to communicate more and soon found they had a lot in common. Connecting through music, food, old fashioned concepts, as well as their dreams and goals for the future, it didn’t take long for these two to find another thing in common – their feelings for each other! Moving in after only one month of dating, they seemed to already know what they wanted. Sharing the love of their young daughter Emma, they always enjoy going out or watching things together at home. Making each other smile constantly, it was like were a match made in heaven!
With a strong start to their relationship, these two already had a wonderful little family and a great love for each other. But there was something that seemed to be missing. A ring! But after three years of dating, Eli had a solution in mind for even that! One day as Katherine came home from work, Eli was waiting. As she tried to open the door, he blocked it and proceeded to blindfold her to take her somewhere. When the blindfold was taken off, she found herself in their spare bedroom. Eli had set up a romantic homemade dinner with candles. With their favorite songs playing and a collage of their pictures in the shape of a heart, they shared a wonderful dinner. Afterwards, Eli got down on one knee and proposed. Nothing could have been any more romantic than that moment – although watching them during the session came close! Keeping that romance alive, Grand Central Station seemed more like a ballroom filled with their love than a place of transit. With love written all over their faces, it was truly a wonderful love story to capture.
